Covid-19 infections are growing again, very quickly in China, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy.
At the same time, to contain the economic and social damages related to the restrictions, almost all countries, except China, are removing the restrictions imposed by the infections of the past period.
At the meantime a new variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is spreading, it is Deltamicron or Deltacron.
Let’s see when and how this phenomenon is happening:

Deltacron COVID Variant, Mix of Delta and Omicron, Found in at Least Four Countries: Newsweek publishes news of the discovery of a known recombinant variant of a nearly complete Omicron BA.1 gene spike in an underlying structure of Delta AY.4, in at least four countries: the U.S., France, the Netherlands and Denmark.

Two more unrelated Deltacron infections have been identified in the United States, according to an unpublished report from the genetic research firm Helix that was submitted to medRxiv and seen by Reuters.
On the virus research bulletin boards, other teams have since reported 12 Deltacron infections in Europe since January – all with Omicron spikes and a Delta body.

A mix of Delta AY.4 and Omicron BA.1 is identified in three cases in southern France: Culture and identification of a “Deltamicron” SARS-CoV-2 in a three cases cluster in southern France is the title of an article that is published as a pre-print on the online journal MedRxiv available to the scientific community for comments and observations in order to validate its contents.

A variant of covid-19 that combines Delta and Omicron (Deltamicron) is found in Cyprus: this is confirmed by Leondios Kostrikis, professor of biological sciences at the University of Cyprus and head of the Laboratory of Biotechnology and Molecular Virology.
