Marks&Spencer in UK starts selling meat of animals fed with no genetically modified soy or corn Starting from October, it will be possible to find, on the shelves of some selected shops, pork, chicken and eggs. Then also beef and lamb will follow. Obviously the cost will be higher than that of "normal" products, it will be a question of verifying the customers' attitude in this regard. This food also contains vitamins and nutrients produced through genetic manipulation. In this phase they will be removed only when there is a certainty that they don't harm the health of the animals. Which means that there has been a progress in the interest of the consumers, but that maybe it is not yet time to speak of products with absolutely no transgenic components. We hope there will be enough clarity in the next communication to the public and that there will be no giving in to the temptation of selling a partial decrease in transgenic components as a total elimination which is still lacking. Even the Tesco supermarket chain claims to be working on animal feeding. Asked about the announcement made by Marks&Spencer, they have emphasized that "without GM" means 100% without, and that the range of animal feeding is incredibly complex.
