Chinese massage
In all cultures an antique healing practice is massage, in China it is as modern as
acupuncture, moxa, dietetics, and healing with herb.
There are two types of massages:
Localized: is easily taught to a patient and can be an added therapy to acupuncture, or herb, in more serious cases. This massage is called digit-pressure, micro-massage, or auto-massage it is inspired from Chinese medicine.
General: executed by an expert that uses various forms of manipulation, traction, rubbing and
These massages are practiced on acupuncture points and not only they soothe pain, but they can stabilize the global balance of the body. In some cases massage is the only necessary therapy, in others it is paired with other techniques.
A massage is advisable for these diseases: amenorrh, acute and chronic lumbago, periarthritis, rheumatism, enuresis, incontinence, hypertension, anxious- depressive syndrome, headaches, vertigo, constipation, contusions, menopause problems, vomit, nose bleeding, and recovering fracture.
Contraindications:
acute and contagious diseases
skin and bone tumors
burns
pregnancy
fractures and dislocation
old and debilitated patients
Rules
The hands must be clean and warm from two minutes of rubbing. The nails are to be short and clean
Comfortable position in a quiet environment
Massage is not to be done after a meal.
It is good to start by applying little pressure with a rapid movement, then as the movement becomes slower the pressure should increase. The movements are to then become again rapid, and the whole process should last five minutes.
